Nightfall est le deuxième album studio du groupe de Doom metal suédois Candlemass. L'album est sorti le 9 novembre 1987 sous le label Axis Records. L'album a été ré-édité en 2001 avec un disque bonus.

C'est le premier album de Candlemass enregistré avec le vocaliste « Messiah » Marcolin au sein de la formation. C'est également le premier album enregistré avec le guitariste Lars Johansson et le batteur Jan Lindh.

Le titre Marche Funebre est une adaptation de la marche funèbre de Frédéric Chopin[1].

L'illustration de la pochette de l'album est une peinture de l'artiste Thomas Cole[1].

Anecdotes

• Dans le clip vidéo de la chanson Bewitched, Per Yngve Ohlin, chanteur du groupe de Black Metal Mayhem, fait une brève apparition en tant que figurant.

Nightfall is the second studio album by the Swedish doom metal band Candlemass, released on 9 November 1987 through Axis Records. After being dropped from the label Black Dragon Records, Candlemass were the first band signed to Axis. The group had a new line-up from their previous album including vocalist Messiah Marcolin, whose decisions became instrumental during the production and release stages of the album.

Во время записи в состав группы вошёл вокалист Мессия Марколин. Было выпущено два сингла: «Samarithan» и «At the Gallows End». На композицию «Bewitched» был снят клип.
