Fue una de las estrellas infantiles más populares de Noruega. Su primer sencillo “Teddyen min” de 1955, vendió más de 100.000 discos.[1][2] También participó en varias películas, tanto como actriz infantil como en edad adulta.[3]

Kausland representó a Noruega en el Festival de la Canción de Eurovisión 1972 formando dúo con Benny Borg, que interpretaron el tema "Småting".[4] El Festival se celebró el 25 de marzo en Edimburgo, donde alcanzaron la 14.ª posición.

A partir de 1973 cantó en el grupo Dizzie Tunes. En 1978 fue premiada con el "Spellemannprisen" 1978 por su álbum A Taste of Grethe Kausland.

Murió en 2007 víctima de un cáncer de pulmón.

Grethe Kausland (July 3, 1947 – November 16, 2007) was a Norwegian singer, performer and actress. As a child star she was one of Norway's most popular singers (her debut single “Teddyen min” from 1955, sold more than 100,000 records[1][2]), and she participated in several films as a child.[3] She represented Norway in the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest, singing "Småting" with Benny Borg. From 1973 she performed regularly with the entertaining group Dizzie Tunes. Awarded "Spellemannprisen" 1978 for the album A Taste of Grethe Kausland, and "Leonardstatuetten" 1991[1] for her achievements on the revue scene.
