Stephen Arthur Stills (Dallas, Texas, 3 de enero de 1945) es un guitarrista, cantante y compositor estadounidense, conocido por su trabajo con Buffalo Springfield y con Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Datos biográficos

Stephen Stills nació en una familia de militares. Desde pequeño se interesó por la música blues y el folk. También se vio influenciado por música latina después de pasar su juventud en Gainesville, Tampa (Florida), Costa Rica y Panamá, donde se graduó.

Stills abandonó la Universidad de Florida para perseguir una carrera musical en 1964. Participó en varias bandas que no tuvieron mayor repercusión, como The Continentals, en la que tocaba el futuro guitarrista de The Eagles, Don Felder. Entre otros locales, Stills tocó en Gerde's Folk City, un conocido café en Greenwich Village (Nueva York).

En 1997, Stills se convirtió en la primera persona en ser incluida en el Rock and Roll Hall of Fame dos veces en la misma noche, por su trabajo con Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young y con Buffalo Springfield.

Stephen Arthur Stills (born January 3, 1945)[2] is an American musician, singer and songwriter best known for his work with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. As both a solo act and member of two successful bands, Stills has combined record sales of over 35 million albums. He was ranked number 28 in Rolling Stone's 2003 list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time"[3] and number 47 in the 2011 list.[4] Stills became the first person to be inducted twice on the same night into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. According to Neil Young, "Stephen is a genius."[5]
