FutureSex/LoveSounds ist das zweite Studioalbum des US-amerikanischen Sängers Justin Timberlake. Es erschien im September 2006 bei Jive Records.

Geschichte

Nach dem Erfolg von Justified war Timberlake in der Plattenindustrie tätig, war aber auch im Fernsehen zu sehen, etwa in der Show Saturday Night Live. Auch übernahm er mehrere Filmrollen.[2] Timberlake arbeitete bei FutureSex/LoveSounds, für das er sich mehr von Rock beeinflusst gab, außer mit Timbaland mit dem Produzenten Rick Rubin zusammen.[3][4] Das Album erreichte Platz 1 in Großbritannien[5] und in den USA.

Kritik

Auf der Webseite Allmusic.com gab der Kritiker 3,5 von 5 Sternen. Er schrieb, reizlos wie Timberlake sei, sei das Album doch faszinierend, weil er eine klare musikalische Vision verfolge, auch wenn sie fehlgeleitet sei.[6] Robert Christgau schrieb: "'She’s freaky but I like it'?? Dude’s more confused than he wants you to think ("My Love," "SexyBack")." ("Der Junge ist verwirrter, als er möchte, dass du es denkst.") Er gab drei Sterne.[7]

FutureSex/LoveSounds is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake. Released on September 8, 2006, by Jive Records and its affiliated label of the Zomba Group of Companies. During a three-year hiatus, Timberlake resolved his feelings on being unable to record any new material, and as he returned to record some new music, he began collaborating with his longtime record producer Timbaland, alongside the latter's colleague Danja. The album's contents were produced at Timbaland's Thomas Crown Studios. The album shares some lyrical themes with Timberlake's debut album Justified (2002), although FutureSex/LoveSounds was influenced by a wider range of genres, including techno, funk and rock.[5] The reprises and interludes interspersed on the album's tracks were created by the production team with the goal of channeling Timberlake's influences.

FutureSex/LoveSounds es el segundo álbum de estudio del cantante y compositor estadounidense Justin Timberlake, publicado el 12 de septiembre de 2006 por la discográfica Jive Records. Tras una pausa de dos años, durante la cual Timberlake se sintió incapaz de grabar nuevas canciones, volvió a trabajar con el productor Timbaland. Junto al protegido de este último, Danja, los tres fueron los principales autores de FutureSex/LoveSounds cuyo contenido fue grabado mayoritariamente en los estudios Thomas Crown de Timbaland. Aunque comparte algunas temáticas con el álbum debut de Timberlake, Justified (2002), FutureSex/LoveSounds es más diverso en su música. Mezcla R&B y pop con techno, funk y elementos de rock, siendo este último género la principal inspiración de Timberlake durante la grabación del disco. Las repeticiones y los interludios que se intercalan en las canciones del álbum fueron un intento de los productores por canalizar las influencias de Timberlake, entre las cuales se incluyen David Bowie y Prince.
