Rezeption

Bruce Eder meint bei AllMusic zu dem Album, dass es wohl das am „härtesten rockende klassische Album der Gruppe“ sei mit einem großartigen Gesang von Gary Brooker. Die Platte würde sowohl „geradlinige Rock-’n’-Roll-Nummern wie Still There’ll Be More“ und die von Elvis Presley beeinflussten Lieder wie Whiskey Train, als auch dunklere und dramatischere Stücke wie Nothing that I Didn’t Know und Barnyard Story beinhalten.[1]

Home is Procol Harum's fourth album, released in 1970. With the departure of organist Matthew Fisher and bassist David Knights and the addition of the remaining musicians' (Gary Brooker, B. J. Wilson and Robin Trower) former bandmate bassist/organist Chris Copping from the Paramounts, Procol Harum became, to all intents and purposes, the Paramounts again in all but name. The purpose of bringing in Copping was to return some of the R&B sound to the band that they had had with their previous incarnation.[4]

Home es el cuarto álbum de estudio del grupo de rock progresivo británico Procol Harum, publicado en 1970 por las discográficas Regal Zonophone Records, A&M y Polydor. El disco marcó la salida de los músicos Matthew Fisher y David Knights. El tecladista y bajista Chris Copping se unió a la banda reemplazando a dichos músicos. Cuando el álbum fue publicado en junio de 1970, se ubicó en la posición No. 34 en las listas de éxitos de los Estados Unidos y en la No. 49 en el Reino Unido, escalando en el top 10 de las listas danesas.[2] El álbum fue precedido por el sencillo "Whiskey Train", canción escrita por el guitarrista Robin Trower y el compositor Keith Reid.[3]
