„It Feels so Good“ (deutsch: „Es fühlt sich so gut an“) ist ein Song der englischen Sängerin Sonique. Der Song wurde 1998 veröffentlicht und erreichte im Dezember des gleichen Jahres Platz 24 in Großbritannien.[2] Im Sommer 2000 erreichte der Song nach einer Wiederveröffentlichung für drei Wochen Platz 1 in den UK Single Charts.[3][4]

Hintergrund

Sonique sagte über den Song: „It’s about this guy whom I really liked years ago, but who didn’t return my feelings. For he was very successful and I wasn’t - at that time. And he thought that I was in love with his success. This song is just a way of declaring that it was him I liked.“ (dt. „Es ist über diesen Kerl, den ich vor Jahren wirklich richtig mochte, aber meine Gefühle wurden nicht erwidert. Denn er war sehr erfolgreich, und ich war nicht erfolgreich - zu dieser Zeit. Und er dachte, dass ich in seinen Erfolg verliebt war. Dieses Lied ist nur ein Weg, zu erklären, dass ich ihn persönlich mochte.“)[5]

Veröffentlichung

In England wurde der Song am 1. Dezember 1998 veröffentlicht. Die wiederveröffentlichte Version erschien am 22. Mai 2000, in Deutschland am 23. Juni 2000.

Musikvideo

Es existieren 2 Musikvideos. Tim Story drehte die Version für die Wiederveröffentlichung im Februar 2000.[6]

"It Feels So Good" is a song by British singer Sonique. It was originally released on 9 November 1998 and peaked at number 24 on the UK Singles Chart.[4] In May 2000, in the wake of the song's success in the United States, the single was re-released and spent three weeks at number one on the same chart. The song remained in the top 40 for 14 weeks and became the third-biggest-selling single of 2000 in Britain. It has sold over 700,000 copies in the UK as of October 2014.[5]
