Walk the Line ist der Soundtrack zum gleichnamigen Film Walk the Line über das Leben von Johnny Cash aus dem Jahr 2005. Das Album erschien bei Wind-Up Records und gewann 2007 einen Grammy in der Kategorie „Bestes zusammengestelltes Soundtrackalbum für Film, Fernsehen oder visuelle Medien“.

Neun Lieder, also ein Großteil der Songs, werden von Joaquin Phoenix gesungen, der Cash im Film darstellt. Reese Witherspoon steuerte als June Carter vier Stücke bei, Tyler Hilton zwei und Waylon Payne, Johnathan Rice und Shooter Jennings jeweils einen.

Als Bonus enthält die CD zwei Szenen, die es nicht in die endgültige Filmfassung geschafft haben. In einer Szene singt Joaquin Phoenix Rock’n’Roll Ruby, und eine andere Szene findet kurz vor dem Jackson-Auftritt statt. Einige Songs, wie etwa Cocaine Blues, sind in einer anderen Version als im Film zu hören.

Das Album hat 2006 in den USA Platin-Status und 2013 im Vereinigten Königreich Silber-Status erreicht.[1]

Walk the Line: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2005 biographical drama film of the same name released November 15, 2005 by Wind-Up Records. There are nine songs performed by Joaquin Phoenix (as Johnny Cash), four songs by Reese Witherspoon (as June Carter Cash), one song by Waylon Payne (as Jerry Lee Lewis), one song by Johnathan Rice (as Roy Orbison), two songs by Tyler Hilton (as Elvis Presley), and one song by Shooter Jennings (as Waylon Jennings). At the Golden Globe Awards Joaquin Phoenix was awarded the Best Actor – Comedy or Musical and Reese Witherspoon was awarded the Best Actress – Comedy or Musical, as well as the film won the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and Best Actress, which Witherspoon won.
