"Anissa" is a R&B song with trap, kizomba and afrobeats influences written in the key of A major with a moderate tempo of 100 beats per minute. "Anissa" tells a revenge story based on "true facts" of Wejdene being betrayed by her boyfriend with her cousin.
The passage of the lyrics "You take your dirty underwear and get out of my sight" is grammatically incorrect, and it was in the studio that Wejdene realized this. The song is co-written by Feuneu and Wejdene. Feuneu was the producer of the single.
