The album's full title is Black Metal ist Krieg: A Dedication Monument, and it was intended to be a tribute to early black metal musicians. It includes four cover songs and much of its lyrics deal with events in the history of black metal.

The image on the cover, shows the only member of Nargaroth, René "Kanwulf" Wagner. It references a promotional photograph of black metal musician Varg Vikernes.^{[citation needed]}

Songs

• "Black Metal ist Krieg" includes a riff from the Strid song "End of Life" (1993).
• "The Day Burzum Killed Mayhem" is about the murder of Mayhem guitarist Øystein Aarseth (aka Euronymous) by Burzum frontman Varg Vikernes (aka Count Grishnackh) in 1993. The beginning of the song is a recording of a news report about the murder.
• "I Burn for You" opens with a sample from the 1992 film Reservoir Dogs.
• "Erik, May you Rape the Angels" is dedicated to Erik Brødreskift who played drums for Immortal, Borknagar and Gorgoroth between 1993 and 1997. He committed suicide in 1999. Song includes a riff from Immortal song "The Sun No Longer Rises"

Black Metal ist Krieg – A Dedication Monument ist das zweite Album des Soloprojektes Nargaroth und wurde 2001 von No Colours Records veröffentlicht. Laut Kanwulf stellt das Album eine Widmung an den Black Metal sowie einen Versuch der Darstellung seiner Sicht auf denselben und die Bedeutung für ihn dar. Black Metal ist Krieg (в переводе с нем. — «Блэк-метал — это война») — второй полноформатный альбом немецкой группы Nargaroth, выпущенный в 2001 году лейблом No Colours Records. Альбом был также издан в формате A5 Digibook тиражом в 1000 подписанных вручную экземпляров. В 2004 году был издан двойной LP релиза тиражом в 500 экземпляров. На обложке альбома изображён Rene Wagner, более известный под псевдонимом Kanwulf — идеолог, гитарист, басист и вокалист проекта.
