"Chase the Sun" is a song by Italian electronic music group Planet Funk with vocals from Auli Kokko. The melody is taken from Ennio Morricone's tune "Alla Luce Del Giorno", from the score of the 1969 film Metti, una sera a cena.[citation needed] The song was released across Europe in 2000 and 2001 as the lead single from Planet Funk's debut studio album, Non Zero Sumness (2002). "Chase the Sun" peaked at number five in the United Kingdom and additionally reached the top five in Greece, Romania, and Spain.

The song was used by CBBC in early 2001 for its continuity links.[32][33]
The song is also used by Sky Sports for their coverage of darts in the UK. The song is played in the auditorium during the advert breaks of Sky-owned tournaments and it has developed a cult following amongst darts fans, who tend to rave and chant during the breaks.[34][35]
The song is also used during any Braehead Clan ice hockey match during the early autumn to mid Spring season at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
The song is also known as the limited overs theme song for English county cricket club Essex Eagles. It is played at Essex games whenever their batsman or fielders enter the field of play in a limited overs match and whenever the team wins.
It is also used by Leinster Rugby whenever a penalty or conversion is scored. The song was played for two seasons when the Western Force rugby union side ran on.
The song is used as goal music for Australian A-League clubs Western United FC and Adelaide United FC. Norwich City have used this song as goal music during home matches at Carrow Road.
Since the 2017–2018 season, the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League use the Darts remix as the team's goal song. Avalanche fans rave and chant every time a Colorado player scores a goal.[36][37]
