The song peaks at number 4 on MTV Base official Naija Top 10.[3][4] and was nominated for best artiste, duo or group in African contemporary at 2018 All Africa Music Awards.[5]
The song sampled Jogodo by Prof. Linkin which was released in 2003[6] and Kpolongo by Danfo Drivers which was released in 2003,[7][8] it is characterized as an Afropop song with elements of Reggae dancehall.
OkayAfrica included Jogodo in the 15 Best Nigerian Songs of the Year,[9] and describe it that Tekno scores high for how cleverly he has combined the melodies and arrangements of the group's galala sound with today's pon pon craze into a perfectly enjoyable song.[10]
The song peaks at number 4 on MTV Base official Naija Top 10,[11] It also charted at number on Apple Music in several countries including Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana.[12]
On June 29, 2018, Canadian rapper Drake shared a number of Instagram Stories describing the music and projects he was following while writing and producing his album, Scorpion, Jogodo was one of the 10 songs.[13]
The music video was released on May 10, 2018, and directed by Clarence Peters.[14]
