The official track debuted at number 5 on Spotify's New Music Friday Philippines and at number 3 on iTunes Philippines, since its release.[2]
"Kapit Lang" runs for a total of two minutes and fifty seconds, set in common time with a tempo of 130 beats per minute and written in the key of C♯/D♭ major.[3] Most of its lyrics were written in Filipino, except with the rap parts as it was written in English that speaks about rising above hardship and believing in yourself.[4]
I think part of the inspiration for choosing the phrase "Kapit Lang" as the hook/chorus was that I was hearing it in conversations between friends. People saying, "uy kapit lang" and I thought that phrase would be really good as a song. I wanted to express all the frustration and sadness I was feeling about the global pandemic. I guess part of me wanted and needed to hear that everything was going to be okay in the end somehow; that there is some hope to hold onto, even if I wasn’t really feeling it at the time.

Not deprived of the octet’s distinctly bubblegum flavor, the new track flaunts danceable beats and inspiring lyrics at the same time.

The euphoric pop track features bright synths, trap percussions and thick bass rumbles.

The official track of "Kapit Lang" was released on 10 September 2021 accompanied by its music video.[7]
Kapit Lang started out as a prompt from Sir Jonathan for a new song for me. It wasn’t initially intended for BINI. We were talking about what songs I could release for 2020 and he was saying it would be good to write a song that was sensitive to the times.

On 12 September 2021, "Kapit Lang" debuted on television through ASAP Natin 'To.[8]
The music video for "Kapit Lang" was produced by YouMeUs MNL, directed by Amiel Kirby Balagtas and written by Edgar Dale Reciña, who also worked with the group's music video of Born to Win. It was presented in a visually bright and lively pastel colors[4] interspersed with different vacation spots, accompanied by slick dance choreography.[6]
The dynamic and animated tones of the video made it beautiful and positive as an anthem–more resonating, but also, the effective deliveries of Stacey, Colet, Maloi, Jhoanna, Aiah, Sheena, Mikha, and Gwen.
