"The Light" is a song by the American progressive rock group Spock's Beard. It is the first track on their debut album, The Light. It is one of the most well known songs by the band and was ranked as the second best Modern Prog Song of the 1990-2015 period by The Prog Report in 2017.[1] It is one of the band's most played songs.[2]

Spock’s Beard ist eine US-amerikanische Progressive-Rock-Band, die 1992 von den Brüdern Neal und Alan Morse in Los Angeles gegründet wurde. Keyboarder und Sänger Neal Morse war zunächst Frontmann und Songwriter der Band, die er 2002 zu Gunsten eines neuen Karriereabschnitts mit religiösem Schwerpunkt verließ. Von 2002 bis 2011 agierte Schlagzeuger Nick D’Virgilio als Sänger und Frontmann der Band. Nach seinem Ausstieg besteht die aktuelle Besetzung aus Gitarrist Alan Morse, Bassist Dave Meros, Keyboarder Ryo Okumoto, Schlagzeuger Jimmy Keegan und Sänger Ted Leonard.
