Sarah Ferguson of Exclaim! said: "Successfully empowering old sounds, Blockhead conceptualizes and plays with mindful spoken word, soulful diva vocals and weird '50s-era television audio amongst ballsy jazz horns and instrumentation, voodoo singing and sounds borrowed from opera and classical."[5] Rick Anderson of AllMusic gave the album 4 stars out of 5, saying: "Everyone makes sample-based music these days, but very few people use found sounds and prefab musical snippets as creatively and thoughtfully as Blockhead does."[2]
