Chart performance

"Treat Me Right" peaked at number 18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and spent two weeks at number 10 on the Cash Box Top 100.[1] The song also charted at number 31 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart[2] and reached number 12 in Canada,[3] where it was the 76th biggest hit of 1981.

• The song's co-writer, Doug Lubahn, also recorded the song with his own band, Riff Raff; it appeared on their 1981 album, Vinyl Futures.[7]

Popular culture

• The song was included in the 1982 film and soundtrack for the Richard Gere film, An Officer and a Gentleman.
