«Apache» es una canción instrumental británica compuesta por Jerry Lordan en 1960.[1] Fue popularizada por The Shadows y llegó a ser una de las más famosas de su repertorio. También la versión por Incredible Bongo Band, ha sido importante en los inicios del hip hop y el rap, siendo sampleada por gran variedad de músicos y DJ's. Clive Campbell, también conocido como DJ Kool Herc, considera Apache (la versión de The Incredible Band) como un himno nacional del hip hop, además de que él mismo la sampleó.[2] La banda The Sugarhill Gang, considerados pioneros del rap,[3][4] lanzó una versión de Apache cuando el rap estaba en sus inicios y se estaba popularizando debido al éxito internacional de The Sugarhill Gang, Rapper's Delight, lanzada 3 años antes.

"Apache" is a song written by Jerry Lordan and first recorded by Bert Weedon. Lordan played the song on ukulele to The Shadows while on tour, and liking the song, the group released their own version which topped the UK Singles Chart for five weeks in mid 1960.[1] The Shadows' guitarist Hank Marvin developed the song's distinctive echo and vibrato sound. After hearing the Shadows' version, Danish guitarist Jørgen Ingmann released a cover of the song in November 1960 which peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.[2]- [es] Apache (canción)
