Leviathan es el segundo álbum de estudio de Mastodon, considerado como un álbum conceptual basado casi en su totalidad en la novela de Herman Melville Moby Dick, que salió a la venta el 31 de agosto en la discográfica Relapse Records. Del disco se sacaron los sencillos Iron Tusk, Blood And Thunder y Seabeast. Además, hasta cuatro revistas consideraron éste como álbum del año 2004: Kerrang!, Revolver, Metal Hammer y Terrorizer. El disco vendió 103 000 copias en los Estados Unidos hasta septiembre de 2006.

Leviathan is the second album by American heavy metal band Mastodon, released in 2004 on Relapse Records. It is Mastodon's first concept album, loosely based on the 1851 novel Moby-Dick by Herman Melville. The songs "Iron Tusk", "Blood and Thunder", "I Am Ahab" and "Seabeast" were released as singles. Three magazines awarded the album Album of the Year in 2004: Revolver, Kerrang! and Terrorizer. In 2009 and 2015 MetalSucks named Leviathan the best metal album of the 21st century.
