El culto a la popularidad de Rancid y sus pegadizas canciones, los hizo objeto de una importante guerra entre las discográficas (de ahí el título, ...And Out Come the Wolves), que terminó con el grupo firmando en la discográfica independiente, Epitaph Records. Con un sonido muy influido por el ska, Rancid se convirtió en una de las pocas bandas de mediados y fines de los años 1990 en conservar gran parte de sus primeros fanes.

En términos de ventas de discos, ...And Out Come the Wolves es uno de los álbumes más populares de Rancid. El álbum fue disco de oro (gracias a RIAA) el 22 de enero de 1996. Y luego fue disco de platino el 23 de septiembre de 2004.

Canciones

El tercer track, "Roots Radicals", es un homenaje al roots reggae, un subgénero de la música reggae conocido por tratar temas políticos. En concreto, la banda dice "las raíces, el reggae en mi equipo de música", lo que hacer recordar, que lo que escucharon durante su adolescencia, se ve influenciado en su trabajo hoy en día.

Los single de este álbum fueron "Time Bomb", "Ruby Soho" y "Roots Radicals".

El arte de tapa es un tributo a Minor Threat, una banda de hardcore punk de los años 80s, que originalmente utilizó la imagen de un hombre con la cabeza sobre sus rodillas en su primer EP

...And Out Come the Wolves is the third studio album by American punk rock band Rancid. It was released on August 22, 1995, through Epitaph Records. Rancid's popularity and catchy songs made them the subject of a major label bidding war (hence the title, ...And Out Come the Wolves[2] taken from a poem in Jim Carroll's The Basketball Diaries) that ended with the band staying on Epitaph. With a sound heavily influenced by ska, which called to mind Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman's past in Operation Ivy, Rancid became one of the few bands of the mid-to late-1990s boom in punk rock to retain much of its original fanbase. In terms of record sales and certifications, ...And Out Come the Wolves is a popular album in the United States. It produced three hit singles: "Roots Radicals", "Time Bomb" and "Ruby Soho", that earned Rancid its heaviest airplay on MTV and radio stations to date. All the singles charted on Modern Rock Tracks. ...And Out Come the Wolves was certified gold by the RIAA on January 22, 1996. It was certified platinum on September 23, 2004.[3]

Возрастающая популярность группы и успех её творчества среди широкой аудитории сделали коллектив объектом интересов в поле зрения крупных лейблов звукозаписи (отсюда и название …And Out Come the Wolves — фраза из новеллы Джима Кэрролла «Дневники баскетболиста»  (англ.) (рус.[1]), которая закончилась выбором в пользу Epitaph Records. Базирующаяся на звуке навеянном ска, которое отсылало к творчеству прошлой группы Тима Армстронга и Мэтта Фримена  (англ.) (рус. — Operation Ivy, Rancid стали одной из немногих коллективов периода бума поп-панка середины — конца 1990-х, сохранившей бо́льшую часть своей первоначальной фан-базы. В поддержку пластинки было выпущено три сингла — «Roots Radicals», «Time Bomb» и «Ruby Soho» — каждый из которых добился успеха отметившись в чарте Modern Rock Tracks.
