Gauze (estilizado como GAUZE) es el primer álbum (segundo, contando el primer EP MISSA) de la banda japonesa DIR EN GREY lanzado el 28 de julio del 1999.[1] Cinco de las canciones, que fueron lanzadas como sencillo, fueron producidas por el cofundador de la banda X Japan, Yoshiki.

Notas
- El kanji de la séptima canción está impreso al revés en la caja del CD, en su mini libro y en la página oficial. Los kanjis usados se leen como "Mitsu to Tsuba", pero al estar girados pasan a ser leídos como "Tsumi to Batsu", que es considerado el verdadero nombre de la canción.
- El nombre "raison detre" está en francés y significa "Razón de ser", aunque su correcta forma de escritura es "raison d'être".
- La palabra "mazohyst" es una falta de ortografía para la palabra "masochist" ("masoquista" en inglés).
- La mayor parte de "GAUZE -mode of eve-" está contenida en la penúltima canción, por lo cual la pista dura solo 4 segundos, pero considerando la canción dura 1:15. Esto fue un error al momento de hacer el CD.
- Los números de cada canción en la caja y algunas partes de la canción «Schwein no Isu» están escritas en alemán.
- La mujer que aparece en el "booklet art" es un personaje del manga "Gilgamesh".

Gauze is the first studio album released by Dir En Grey on July 28, 1999. It is the band's first full-length record. Five tracks were produced by X Japan co-founder Yoshiki Hayashi,[3] all of which had been previously released as singles. The album was originally released on July 28, 1999 as a standard version with a thick CD case, 36-page booklet with the CD reading surface painted red, through East West Japan. An initial limited version was released on the same day, including a translucent red sleeve with a cloud pattern, 12-page picture booklet, a 36-page lyrics booklet, and the red painted CD in a maxi-CD single case for a sticker price of ¥3,059 ($28.06). The album was later re-issued as standard version only, with a silver disc on October 31, 2001, through Free-Will. Although live performances of songs from this album have been extremely rare since 2003, the album still contains some of the band's most popular songs like "Cage" and "Yokan".- [es] Gauze
