October Rust es el cuarto álbum de la banda estadounidense Type O Negative, lanzado en 1996 por Roadrunner Records. El disco cuenta con la presencia del nuevo baterista, Johnny Kelly, quien reemplazó a Sal Abruscato. Una vez más, se incluye un cover de un artista de corte cantautor/soft rock, como sucediera con una versión de «Seals and Crofts» en el álbum anterior; en este caso es «Cinnamon Girl», de Neil Young.[1]

October Rust is the fourth studio album by Type O Negative. It was released in 1996.[5] This is the first album with Johnny Kelly credited as the band's drummer, although programmed drums are used on the album. October Rust has more ballads and less of the doom metal sound of previous or subsequent albums. It also features a very heavy cover of Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl".

Альбом продолжил тенденцию, начатую на предыдущем, Bloody Kisses: музыка на нём плавная, спокойная и мелодичная, сочетающая металлические гитары с атмосферой классического готик-рока, большим количеством клавишных проигрышей и вставками звуков живой природы. Тексты песен посвящены в основном сексу, страсти и кельтскому язычеству.
