Suede es el álbum debut de Suede. Fue lanzado en 1993 por la disquera Nude Records. Fue un disco que, junto a Modern Life Is Rubbish de Blur, His 'n' Hers de Pulp y Definitely Maybe de Oasis ayudó a propulsar la "revolución" del pop británico de los 90. Este disco se convirtió en el disco debut que más rápido se vendió en la historia británica, llegando al número uno de las listas inmediatamente después de su lanzamiento y ganando el Mercury Music Prize en 1993.

La sexualmente ambigua tapa del disco provocó controversia en la prensa, llevando al cantante de Suede, Brett Anderson a decir: «No estoy realmente interesado en ser controvertido. Si hubiésemos querido crear controversia tendríamos que haber nombrado al álbum I Fuck Dogs».

En 1998 los lectores de Q Magazine votaron a este disco en el puesto número 60 de los 100 mejores discos de todos los tiempos.

Este disco está incluido en el libro 1001 álbumes que hay que escuchar antes de morir.[1]

Suede is the debut album by English alternative rock band Suede, released in March 1993 on Nude Records. It was recorded in London at Master Rock studios late 1992 and early 1993 and was produced by Ed Buller. At the time the fastest-selling debut album in British history in almost a decade, Suede debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart, won the 1993 Mercury Music Prize,[1] and is often cited as one of the first Britpop records. Displaying a sound of Britishness and glam rock, its music and lyrical content has been compared to The Smiths and early David Bowie.[2]
