El álbum fue grabado en 2004, cuando Perry tenía 19 años.[2] La banda grabó un video musical para la canción "Broken" para ayudar a promover el álbum. El video fue no sólo una estrella Katy Perry y Longlands, sino por toda la banda.

En octubre de 2004, la revista Blender, Katy Perry ha llamado como "The Big Thing Next!" (La próxima gran cosa!).[3] Matrix ha decidido cancelar el lanzamiento de semana antes de su venta.[4]

En 2009, después del éxito del álbum debut de Katy Perry, "One of the Boys", The Matrix ha decidido lanzar el álbum con el sello de Capitol Records.

Ashley Tisdale volvió a grabar "Love Is Train" para su segundo álbum "Guilty Pleasure" con el nombre de "Time's Up", como un tema extra de su álbum.
