The Wretched Spawn (El horrible engendro) es el noveno álbum de larga duración de la banda estadounidense de death metal Cannibal Corpse, editado el 24 de febrero de 2004 por la discográfica Metal Blade Records. La portada muestra a una mujer dando a luz a un monstruo, si bien existe una versión censurada que muestra en su lugar la escultura de una calavera. El álbum se distribuyó con un DVD de regalo que muestra un "cómo se hizo", «The Making of The Wretched Spawn»; también existe una edición limitada que incluye el EP Worm Infested (2003).

The Wretched Spawn is the ninth studio album by American death metal band Cannibal Corpse. The cover art is by Vincent Locke. This is the last studio album to feature Jack Owen, one of the band's founding members, and up to 2012's Torture, the last with an album cover depicting violence and gore. The album was distributed with a making-of DVD produced by Nick Sahakian. The Wretched Spawn is Cannibal Corpse's fourth album to be named after one of the tracks on the album, after Butchered at Birth, The Bleeding and Gallery of Suicide.
