Cet album live ne comporte que des titres dont les versions studio originales sont parues sur des albums du groupe durant les années 1980 à l'exception de Closer To The Heart. Les enregistrements live furent réalisés à Birmingham (Royaume-Uni), Nouvelle-Orleans, Phoenix et San Diego durant la tournée de 1988 Hold Your Fire, ainsi qu"à Meadowlands (New Jersey) durant la tournée Power Windows en 1986. Le titre d'introduction contient la chanson thème des Trois Stooges nommée "Three Blind Mice" en musique de fond. Le groupe utilisait ce jingle pour ouvrir la majorité de leurs concerts des années 1980.

A Show of Hands is a live album by the Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1989. The band released a video of the same name, originally on VHS and LaserDisc, the same year. A DVD version was released as part of a box set in 2006, and as an individual DVD in 2007. In 2015 it was reissued after being remastered by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios following a direct approach by Rush to remaster their entire back catalogue.[5]

A Show of Hands es el título del tercer álbum en directo -y decimoquinto en su carrera artística- por la agrupación canadiense de rock progresivo Rush. Fue grabado en varias localidades donde la banda ofreció conciertos durante las giras promocionales de sus álbumes "Power Windows" (1985) y "Hold Your Fire" (1987) y lanzado al mercado simultáneamente como álbum doble en vinilo, casete y CD. Adicionalmente al álbum, la banda lanzó un video del mismo nombre, en formato VHS, que fue reeditado en DVD en 2006, como parte del paquete especial "Replay X 3". Fue certificado con la categoría oro en ventas el 9 de marzo de 1989, a dos meses de su lanzamiento.
