Aion est le titre du cinquième album du duo Dead Can Dance. L'album est paru le 2 juillet 1990 chez 4AD sous le numéro de catalogue CAD0007. Il a été enregistré dans l'église Quivvy (en Irlande) appartenant à Brendan Perry.

Marquant un nouvel écart avec l'album précédent, cet album a la particularité, dans la discographie du groupe, d'être entièrement consacré à la musique du Moyen Âge. La chanson The Song of the Sybil (El Cant de la Sibil·la en catalan) contient des paroles en catalan du XVI^e siècle. Les légères influences ethniques aperçues sur The Serpent's Egg se manifestent également sur Aion.

La pochette de l'album est un détail du volet central (la Terre) du Jardin des délices de Jérôme Bosch.

Aion is the fifth studio album by the Australian band Dead Can Dance, released on 11 June 1990 by 4AD. The first album Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry wrote after the end of their romantic partnership, it was recorded at Perry's new estate, Quivvy Church in Ireland, with additional recording on "The Arrival and the Reunion" and "The End of Words" taking place at Woodbine Street Recording Studios in Leamington Spa.[3]

Aion es un álbum de música gótica del grupo australiano Dead Can Dance, publicado en 1990 bajo el sello discográfico 4AD. Es el álbum más representativo del estilo del grupo al contener una amplia gama de melodías, sonidos e instrumentos antiguos, recuperados de la edad media y del renacimiento, con el objetivo de representar la música de esta época. La influencia de las creaciones medievales se hace directa en temas como The Song of the Sibyl, cuya letra es una edición de una canción católica catalana del mismo nombre. Además, otros temas hablan de la fortuna, tópico muy frecuente en el arte renacentista; e incluso, de mitos paganos griegos.
