Girl 6 est un album de Prince sorti en 1996, servant de bande originale au film du même nom de Spike Lee.

Cet album est principalement constitué de chansons enregistrées bien avant le film par Prince ainsi que par des groupes qu'il a fondé : Vanity 6, The Family et New Power Generation. Seules les chansons "She Spoke 2 Me" (enregistrée en 1991–1992), "Don't Talk 2 Strangers" (enregistrée en 1992, durant des sessions pour la bande originale de I'll Do Anything) et "Girl 6" (enregistrée pour le film) n'avaient jamais été commercialisées. "She Spoke 2 Me" apparaitra plus tard sur l'album The Vault...Old Friends 4 Sale en 1999. "Don't Talk 2 Strangers" sera reprise par Chaka Khan sur son album Come 2 My House en 1998.

Girl 6 (englisch für Mädchen 6) ist ein Musikalbum, das ausschließlich aus Kompositionen des Musikers Prince besteht. Es erschien am 19. März 1996 bei dem Major-Label Warner Bros. Records und dient als Soundtrack zum gleichnamigen Film von Regisseur Spike Lee. Zum damaligen Zeitpunkt befand sich Prince mit Warner in einem Streit, musste aber seinen Vertrag noch bis zum 31. Dezember 1999 erfüllen. Zwar schuldete er dem Label damals noch drei weitere Alben, aber Girl 6 zählte nicht zu dem Vertrag, den Prince 1992 mit Warner abgeschlossen hatte.[2] Abgesehen von ihm wirkten auf dem Album The Family, The New Power Generation und Vanity als Interpreten mit.

The album is the soundtrack album to the Spike Lee film of the same name. Girl 6 consists of mostly previously released songs from Prince and related artists such as the Family, Vanity 6, and the New Power Generation. The three previously unreleased tracks are "She Spoke 2 Me" (recorded in 1991–1992), "Don't Talk 2 Strangers" (recorded in 1992, during sessions for the proposed I'll Do Anything soundtrack) and "Girl 6", which was newly recorded for the soundtrack.
