20 Greatest Hits è una raccolta del gruppo musicale britannico The Beatles. Essa raccoglie venti canzoni che raggiunsero il primo posto nelle classifiche musicali inglesi e statunitensi. In seguito l'album non venne più commercializzato perché sostituito da The Beatles 1, pubblicato nel novembre 2000.

20 Greatest Hits venne pubblicato in occasione del ventesimo anniversario della pubblicazione della prima canzone di successo dei Beatles, Love Me Do, del 1962. Come quasi tutti gli album dei Beatles, anche questo uscì in due differenti versioni: una per il Regno Unito, l'altra per gli Stati Uniti, quest'ultima mancante di alcune tracce importanti, quali Eight Days a Week e Yesterday). L'edizione per il mercato statunitense, inoltre, contiene una versione di Hey Jude ridotta a soli cinque minuti, per vincoli di durata complessiva dell'album.

La versione statunitense dell'LP fu pubblicata anche in Canada nonostante le numerose incongruenze tra l'idea alla base della raccolta e il successo delle canzoni dei Beatles in quella nazione; ad esempio il brano Can't Buy Me Love raggiunse solo la terza posizione delle classifiche generali canadesi, mentre furono altre le canzoni del gruppo, non presenti nell'album, che raggiunsero la vetta, come All My Loving e This Boy.

Das Album erschien am 18. Oktober 1982 in Großbritannien, am 11. Oktober in den USA und im November 1982 in Deutschland.

20 Greatest Hits is a compilation album featuring a selection of songs by The Beatles that were number one singles in the UK and US. It was released on 11 October 1982 in the United States and 18 October in the United Kingdom and marked the 20th anniversary of The Beatles' first record release, "Love Me Do", in the UK in October 1962. 20 Greatest Hits was the last Beatles album to be released with variations between the U.S. and UK versions (some Beatles hits in the US were not released as singles in the UK, such as "Eight Days a Week" and "Yesterday"). There is an extremely rare 8 track tape version of this album, which approximately 10 to 15 copies still exist today. Legend has it that Capitol Records decided to pull the plug on the release at the last minute, as 8 tracks were not selling well in late 1982, and all copies were to be destroyed. However, there were a few that survived.
