L'album contiene anche la collaborazione della cantante con il produttore will.i.am Heartbreaker, pubblicata come singolo nel 2008, e una cover del brano Don't Talk About This Love, brano originariamente interpretato da Nikola Rachelle nel 2006.

L'album ha subito riscosso un ottimo successo commerciale raggiungendo la prima posizione della classifica britannica e la seconda di quella irlandese, promosso, oltre che da Fight for This Love, anche dal secondo singolo 3 Words e dal testo Parachute. Il disco è stato pubblicato in tutta l'Europa nel febbraio del 2010.[6] Le vendite dell'album nel Regno Unito ammontano attualmente a più di 995.000.[5]

3 Words is the debut studio album by English singer Cheryl Cole released on 23 October 2009 by Fascination Records. Cole's first solo performance was on American rapper will.i.am's "Heartbreaker" (2008), on which she sang additional vocals. Following this, it was announced that Cole's band Girls Aloud would take a break from releasing material, having enjoyed five successful albums and twenty consecutive top-ten singles. In April 2009, Cole started working on solo material in Los Angeles and London, mainly collaborating with will.i.am, who served as executive producer of the album.

Альбом дебютировал в UK Albums Chart с первой строчки с объёмом продаж в 125,271 копий.[1] Альбом провёл на этой позиции ещё неделю. Записываясь в Лос-Анджелесе и Лондоне, Коул сотрудничала, главным образом, с will.i.am из Black Eyed Peas. Диск получил умеренные оценки, заработав рейтинг 62 из 100 на Metacritic.[2]
