Descrizione


Il gruppo ha cominciato a scrivere i brani verso la fine del 2005, dopo le numerose apparizioni negli Stati Uniti d'America e in Europa. Dopo Natale, i brani sono stati completati e hanno cominciato la preparazione negli Sarm West Studios a Londra. Il titolo dell'album è ispirato al film Scala al paradiso di Michael Powell e Emeric Pressburger del 1946.

Il disco è caratterizzato da canzoni mediamente più lunghe della norma. Infatti, solo tre brani su dieci durano meno di sei minuti ciascuno.

La copertina è opera dell'illustratore statunitense Tim Bradstreet, noto soprattutto per i suoi lavori nell'ambito dei fumetti.

A Matter of Life and Death (englisch für: „Eine Angelegenheit um Leben und Tod“) ist das 14. Studioalbum der britischen Heavy-Metal-Band Iron Maiden. Es erschien am 25. August 2006 in Europa und am 5. September in den USA. Produzent des Albums war Kevin Shirley. Aufgenommen wurde es, wie schon das vorangegangene Album Dance of Death, in den Sarm West Studios in London. Eine anschließende Welttournee startete am 4. Oktober 2006 im New England Dodge Music Center – Hartford in den USA.

A Matter of Life and Death (с англ. — «Вопрос жизни и смерти») — четырнадцатый студийный альбом британской хэви-метал-группы Iron Maiden, изданный 25 августа 2006 года в Италии и Финляндии, а 5 сентября 2006 года в США, Канаде и Японии. На первой же неделе продаж альбом стал золотым в Финляндии [14].
