La canzone
Fu realizzata con la collaborazione di Slash, chitarrista dei Guns N' Roses. Slash concepì il brano inizialmente per i Guns, ma poiché l'ex batterista Steven Adler aveva difficoltà a suonarlo, decise di farlo insieme a Kravitz.[1]
Il 6 giugno 1992, durante la tappa a Parigi dello Use Your Illusion Tour, Kravitz si unì in concerto ai Guns ed eseguì con loro "Always on the Run".
La canzone si trova anche nel videogioco Guitar Hero: Aerosmith e nel film con Adam Sandler Waterboy.

"Always on the Run" is a song by American rock musician Lenny Kravitz, released as the first single from his second album, Mama Said (1991). It features a contribution by Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash. Slash had written the music for the song with the original intention of releasing it on a Guns N' Roses studio album but since former drummer Steven Adler had difficulty playing the song, he saved it for this eventual collaboration with Kravitz.[2][es] Always on the Run
