Descrizione


Il primo singolo estratto da Around the Sun è Leaving New York, dove Michael Stipe parla del suo amore per New York. Il disco contiene anche i brani Boy in the Well, The Worst Joke Ever, The Outsiders (cantata in duetto col rapper Q-Tip), The Final Straw, già pubblicata su internet nel 2003 per protestare contro l'attacco americano all'Iraq.

Around the Sun is the 13th studio album by American alternative rock band R.E.M., released on October 5, 2004[6][5] on Warner Bros. Records.

Around the Sun es el decimotercer álbum de R.E.M. lanzado en el 2004, un año después del recopilatorio definitivo de la banda In Time. Around the Sun recibió críticas moderadamente favorables, y a pesar de llegar al número 1 en el Reino Unido, se convirtió en el primer álbum de estudio del grupo en no alcanzar el Top 10 de los Estados Unidos (llegando al 13) desde Green en 1988, y aún está esperando el status de álbum de oro.
