Dopo che i due artisti registrarono il brano, il produttore discografico, L.A. Reid, cercò di sostituire la presenza di Brown nel brano con quella di Trey Songz, in successione allo scandalo che lo aveva coinvolto lo stesso anno con la fidanzata, Rihanna, ma il rapper si impose affinché fosse proprio Brown a cantare nel brano.[1]

"Back to the Crib" is a song by American rapper Juelz Santana, intended as the second single for his unreleased third album Born to Lose, Built to Win.[1] It features American singer-songwriter Chris Brown in their second collaboration since Chris Brown's "Run It!" in 2005. The song was produced by Polow Da Don.[2]
