Descrizione


Composto nel testo dai due frontman Mike Shinoda e Chester Bennington,[3] si tratta di un brano dalle sonorità alternative che vede alternare il cantato di Shinoda nelle strofe a quello di Bennington nel ritornello.[4] L'intermezzo del brano è caratterizzato da un assolo di chitarra.[1]


Video musicale


Il videoclip, diretto dal DJ del gruppo Joe Hahn e pubblicato il 22 febbraio 2011,[5] è stato girato al rallentatore e mostra gli ultimi istanti di vita della gente prima di un'esplosione nucleare. Verso il finale vengono mostrati i membri del gruppo a cui sono stati applicati effetti simili al video del precedente singolo Waiting for the End.

Il dietro le quinte della realizzazione del video è stato pubblicato sul canale YouTube del gruppo il 24 marzo 2011.[6]


Live


Il brano è stato eseguito per la prima volta dal vivo il 13 dicembre 2010 a Melbourne.[7] In precedenza Chester Bennington e Mike Shinoda ne cantavano il solo ritornello nell'intermezzo esteso di Bleed It Out.

"Burning in the Skies" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. It was announced as the band's third single from their fourth studio album, A Thousand Suns, on January 20, 2011, and it was released on March 21.[2] A music video for the single was directed by Joe Hahn, Linkin Park's turntablist. It was released in the United States to the Nielsen BDS adult contemporary indicator chart by February 2011, although it was clarified by vocalist Mike Shinoda that it is an international-only single,[3] hence not charting in any Billboard charts.
