Drumming Song è caratterizzato dalla collaborazione strumentale di tamburi, organo, basso, pianoforte, violino, viola, violoncello ed arpa; James Ford, produttore e coautore del brano, è accreditato come suonatore di organo, basso tamburi e pianoforte. Le voci femminili di sottofondo appartengono a Ladonna Hartley-Peters e Victoria Alkinlola.[5]

Il video musicale di Drumming Song è stato candidato come «Best Music Video» ai britannici Q Awards, svoltisi il 25 ottobre 2009.[6] Esso è ambientato nelle stanze di un monastero che ospita un ampio colonnato, lucenti lampadari pendenti dal soffitto e vetrate dipinte. In questo ambiente, Florence Welch è dapprima colta mentre, distesa sul pavimento, sussulta a ritmo della melodia.

"Drumming Song" is a song by the English indie rock band Florence and the Machine. The song was released on Island Records on 13 September 2009 in the UK as the fourth single from the band's first album Lungs. The song was the band's second consecutive single to be A-listed on BBC Radio 1.[citation needed] It was the band's fourth single to enter the top 75 on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at #54 during its week of physical release.
