Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Songbook è il settimo album della cantante jazz Ella Fitzgerald con l'orchestra di Buddy Bregman, registrato nel febbraio 1956 nei famosi Capitol Studios in Los Angeles e poi pubblicato dalla Verve Records nel 1956.[1][2]

È un doppio album in vinile composto da trentadue brani scritti dal compositore Cole Porter, ed è il primo pubblicato dalla Verve Records. È unanimemente considerato uno dei capolavori della musica jazz del secondo dopoguerra e uno degli album più venduti della cantante statunitense , assieme "the Rodgers and Hart Songbook " inciso nello stesso anno . Il timbro caldo e luminoso di Ella , assieme ad una dizione e ad uno swing impeccabili rendono questo album ancora di straordinaria attualita' e un esempio di pregevole fattura per chiunque voglia cimentarsi nel canto jazz.

Nel 1997 è uscita una riedizione in CD che include quattro bonus track aggiuntive.
