First Take è il primo album della cantante soul statunitense Roberta Flack, pubblicato nel 1969 da Atlantic Records. L'album deve il suo grande successo all'introduzione della canzone The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face nel film del 1971 di Clint Eastwood Brivido nella notte. L'inaspettato successo del brano[1] lo porta a essere promosso come singolo e trascina il primo disco della Flack in vetta alla classifica degli album R&B per due settimane e a quella della chart pop per cinque settimane. È l'unico lavoro dell'artista a raggiungere il primo posto in una classifica statunitense. Il 19 aprile del 1972, la RIAA lo certifica disco d'oro. Il 30 gennaio 2006, l'album è certificato disco di platino per il milione di copie vendute.

First Take is the debut album by the American soul singer Roberta Flack. It was released on June 20, 1969, by Atlantic Records. After a track from this album, "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", was included by Clint Eastwood in his 1971 film Play Misty for Me with the song becoming a number 1 hit in the United States, the album reached number 1 on the Billboard album chart and Billboard R&B album chart. In the 2020 edition of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list, the album was ranked number 451.[4]
