La canzone
La rivista Guitar World votò l'assolo di Dimebag Darrell contenuto in Floods come il quindicesimo migliore di tutti i tempi.[1] L'assolo nacque originariamente come riff, per poi essere trasformato dal talentuoso Dime in un pezzo esempio di tecnica e velocità. Generalmente, la canzone si diversifica notevolmente dalle altre composte dalla band texana. Essa è infatti a tratti estremamente lenta e presenta un tono vocale cupo inedito per tale gruppo. La base musicale non presenta infatti le solite potenti e rapide percussioni di Vinnie Paul, che qui si incentrano solo su un "calmo" accompagnamento, e la voce di Phil Anselmo è notevolmente cupa e rauca.
