L'opening track Never Let Me Down Again realizzata dagli Smashing Pumpkins fu originariamente pubblicata come lato B del singolo Rocket del 1994[5].

La versione di Stripped dei Rammstein fu pubblicata come singolo, accompagnata da un controverso[6] videoclip, diretto da Philipp Stölzl, con estratti da Olympia, documentario di Leni Riefenstahl sui Giochi Olimpici di Berlino del 1936[6]. Il singolo raggiunse la posizione #14 della classifica tedesca[7] e fu salutata favorevolmente dai membri dei Depeche Mode, specialmente dall'autore Martin Gore per l'originale reinterpretazione[8].

For the Masses is a 1998 tribute album to the British band Depeche Mode, specifically the works of Martin Gore. The album charted in America and reached the Top 20 in Germany, making it the most successful Depeche Mode tribute album of all time.[1] The album title is taken from Depeche Mode's 1987 album Music for the Masses.[2] The album cover was photographed by Martyn Atkins who shot and designed early Depeche Mode artwork; the whole album artwork is consistent with the past Depeche Mode albums.[3]
