Nel testo, Cardi B racconta la sua ascesa al successo, dal lavorare in uno strip club di New York alla sua svolta nell’industria musicale.[2] Secondo un editore di Vibe, il brano è influenzato da Dreams and Nightmares di Meek Mill.[3]


Accoglienza


Jem Aswad di Variety ha definito la canzone "un'autentica canzone autobiografica", e ha notato che ha comunque lasciato spazio a "versi divertenti".[4] Andreas Hale di Billboard ha ritenuto la traccia un ottimo modo per iniziare l’album.[5] Eleanor Halls di GQ l'ha considerata la miglior canzone dell'album.[6] Per Kathy Iandoli di XXL, la canzone fa concentrare gli ascoltatori soltanto sulla musica della rapper, escludendo il gossip che la coinvolge.[7]


Esibizioni dal vivo


Cardi B si è esibita per la prima volta in televisione con la canzone ai BET Hip Hop Awards 2018, in un medley con Backin' It Up, durante la quale è stata raggiunta da Pardison Fontaine.[8]

"Get Up 10" is a song recorded by American rapper Cardi B for her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy (2018). The opening number on the album, it was written by Cardi B and Pardison Fontaine, and its producers The Beat Bully, DJ SwanQo and Sean Allen.[1] The song contains interpretations from "Dreams and Nightmares", written by Meek Mill, Maurice Jordan and Jermaine Preyan, therefore they are credited among the composers. It debuted at number 38 on the US Billboard Hot 100 the week following the album's release.[2]
