L'album è stato pubblicato l'8 febbraio 2011 in Austria e Germania. Il 16 settembre dello stesso anno è stata messa in commercio la Platinum Edition dell'album, esclusivamente per il mercato tedesco.[2]

Germania


In Germania, Good News ha debuttato direttamente al primo posto[4], bissando il successo di vendite del precedente album, My Cassette Player, anch'esso entrato alla 1ª posizione.[5] La settimana successiva, Good News è sceso alla 2ª posizione[6], venendo superato dall'album Charm School, del duo pop svedese Roxette.[6] La settimana seguente, l'album è tornato ad occupare la prima posizione.[7] Inoltre, è rimasto in top 10 per un totale di sei settimane consecutive.[8]

Good News è stato certificato (anche grazie alle vendite della Platinum Edition) disco di platino per le oltre 200 000 copie vendute dalla Bundesverband Musikindustrie.[1]

Good News ist das zweite Studioalbum der deutschen Sängerin Lena Meyer-Landrut. Produzenten sind Stefan Raab und Reinhard Schaub.[1] Alle zwölf Lieder wurden erstmals in der Fernsehsendung Unser Song für Deutschland, dem deutschen Vorentscheid zum Eurovision Song Contest 2011, vorgestellt. Meyer-Landrut präsentierte je sechs Lieder in den Livesendungen am 31. Januar und am 7. Februar 2011. Das Album wurde am 7. Februar 2011 zum Download angeboten und kam am 8. Februar 2011 in den Handel.

It was first released on 8 February 2011 through Universal Music, following her win of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010. The album includes all songs performed by Meyer-Landrut during the televised preselection process for the song that she would perform at the 2011 contest to defend her title. The album debuted at number one on the German Albums Chart, becoming her second album to do so, and has been certified platinum in Germany, indicating sales of over 200,000.[2]
