Quarta traccia dell'album, Habits (Stay High) è stata scritta dalla medesima interprete con Ludvig Söderberg e Jakob Jerlström ed è stata prodotta da questi ultimi due, in arte i Strutz. La canzone, liricamente, rappresenta la volontà della cantante di dimenticare, in tutti i modi, una relazione passata ed è stata scritta nel periodo immediatamente successivo alla rottura con l'ex fidanzato.[16][17]

Video musicale

Il video musicale, diretto da Motellet e prodotto da Martin Roeck Hansen, è stato reso disponibile il 17 marzo 2014 tramite il canale Vevo della cantante.[18] Esso ha come protagonista la cantante che passa la giornata ad ubriacarsi e divertirsi con gli amici girando per i club e baciandosi con diverse ragazze e ragazzi, con l'obiettivo di dimenticare una relazione ormai conclusa.

Inoltre, esisteva una versione precedente del video, eliminata dopo l'uscita dell'ultima versione il 17 marzo 2014, molto simile negli avvenimenti però ambientata in una villa durante un tea party.[19]

Habits (Stay High) ist ein Lied der schwedischen Songwriterin und Sängerin Tove Lo in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzentenduo „The Struts“, bestehend aus Ludvig Söderberg und Jakob Jerlström. Der durch Electro-Pop beeinflusste Song wurde am 15. März 2013 von der Sängerin auf YouTube und am 6. Dezember 2013 vom Major-Label Universal Music als Extended Play „Truth Serum“ sowie später auf ihrem ersten Studioalbum „Queen of the Clouds“ (2014) veröffentlicht. Der englischsprachige Liedtitel „Habits (Stay High)“ bedeutet „Gepflogenheiten (berauscht bleiben)“.[1]

"Habits (Stay High)" is a song recorded by Swedish singer Tove Lo from her debut extended play (EP), Truth Serum, and her debut studio album, Queen of the Clouds (2014). It was written by Lo with Ludvig Söderberg and Jakob Jerlström, while it was produced by the latter two under the production name The Struts. Initially, the singer self-released the song under the title "Habits" on 15 March 2013 as her second independently released single. After Lo was signed to Universal Music, the track was re-released on 6 December 2013 under the title of "Habits (Stay High)" as both the second single from Truth Serum and the lead single from Queen of the Clouds. Musically, it is a pop and electropop song which features a minimal and upbeat electronic instrumentation. Its lyrics delve into the singer's attempts to forget her previous boyfriend through substance abuse, drinking and other hedonistic practices. Consequently, some critics and Lo herself noted a contrast between the song's production and its lyrical content.
