Il video è la parodia del video di Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, dove, in un teatro, delle persone interpretano fatti e personaggi descritti nella canzone.
Sempre nel video di "Headline News", si vede Weird Al interpretare il cantante e chitarrista Brad Roberts, Jim West interpreta il chitarrista Benjamin Darvill, Steve Jay interpreta il bassista Dan Roberts, Jon Schwartz interpreta il batterista Mitch Dorge e Rubén Valtierra interpreta la tastierista Ellen Reid (con tanto di parrucca bionda).
Nel video appare anche, in un cameo il Dr. Demento e Judy Tenuta, in cui quest'ultima interpreta Lorena Bobbitt[1].

“Headline News” is a parody song by "Weird Al" Yankovic. It is a parody of the Crash Test Dummies’ 1993 hit “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm”. It was released as the lead-off single for the compilation box set Permanent Record: Al in the Box on September 27, 1994. The song was written after Yankovic's label insisted he craft a new song to promote the album; Yankovic in turn combined the music of the Crash Test Dummies’ song with three news stories that were popular in late 1993 and early 1994.- [it] Headline News
