Il disco

Il disco viene considerato tra i migliori lavori della band. Secondo Mark Demling di AllMusic: "Liar non è probabilmente il più selvaggio o il più strano album mai pubblicato dai Jesus Lizard, ma potrebbe essere il più potente, e forse il migliore."[1] La copertina del disco mostra un dipinto dell'artista Malcolm Bucknall, che si sarebbe occupato in futuro anche di quelle dell'album Down e del singolo Puss/Oh, the Guilt condiviso a metà con i Nirvana. Il disco si è classificato alla posizione numero 58 nella lista dei migliori album degli anni novanta redatta dalla rivista on line Pitchfork.

Liar is the third studio album by American alternative rock band The Jesus Lizard, released in 1992 by Touch and Go Records. The album is considered to be among the band's best work: according to Mark Deming of AllMusic, "Liar isn't quite the wildest or weirdest album the Jesus Lizard ever made, but it may well be the strongest, and perhaps the best."[4] The artwork is "Allegory of Death" by painter Malcolm Bucknall, who also provided art for the album Down and the "Puss/Oh, the Guilt" split single with Nirvana.[14]
