Nel luglio 1969 dopo i fatti di Miami L'Elektra negoziò e registrò i Doors per due serate all'Aquarius Theatre con l'intenzione di pubblicare un album live della band. I concerti si svolsero uno nel pomeriggio e l'altro la sera, questo è quello pomeridiano registrato il 21 luglio 1969.
