Il video musicale, diretto da Daps, è stato reso disponibile il 3 luglio 2019.[10] Presenta la rapper ad un party, che esegue la canzone davanti a delle macchine e che twerka con un canestro da basketball sullo sfondo.[11] Include la presenza di Kehlani e Kamaiyah.[12]

La canzone è diventata la prima della rapper ad entrare nella Billboard Hot 100, classificandosi 81ª. Eseguendo ciò, Saweetie è diventata la settima rapper femminile ad entrarci nel 2019 e, grazie anche alle precedenti Iggy Azalea, Cardi B, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj e le City Girls ha reso il sopracitato anno quello con più rapper donne ad essere entrate nella Hot 100 statunitense nel suo decennio.[13] La settimana successiva è salita alla 77ª posizione, oltre a salire alla 15ª nella Rap Digital Song Sales e alla 23ª nella R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales.[14] Si è spinta fino alla 47ª nella sua terza settimana,[15] prima di raggiungere un picco di 21.[16]

"My Type" is a song by American rapper Saweetie, released as a single on June 11, 2019, by Warner Records and Artistry Worldwide.[2] It was first released as part of her 2019 EP Icy, and a music video was released for the track in July 2019. It was the basis of a social media challenge,[3] and also became Saweetie's first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number 81[4] before peaking at 21. The song was written by Saweetie and produced by London on da Track, and samples the production of "Freek-a-Leek" by Petey Pablo, produced by Lil Jon.
