L'EP è stato pubblicato dalla rapper come anticipazione del suo album in studio di debutto intitolato Pretty Bitch Music. In concomitanza con l'uscita del progetto la rapper ha pubblicato il video musicale del primo singolo promozionale estratto Risky in collaborazione con Drakeo The Ruler.

Saweetie ha affermato che con questo EP da inizio ad una serie di progetti che pubblicherà l'estate di ogni anno intitolati allo stesso modo.[2]

Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 is the third extended play (EP) by American rapper Saweetie and was released on April 16, 2021. The project contains guest appearances by Bbyafricka, Kendra Jae, Lourdiz, Loui, and Drakeo the Ruler.[1] The EP was supported by the promotional singles "Risky" featuring Drakeo the Ruler and "Talkin' Bout" by Loui featuring Saweetie. The EP precedes the release of Saweetie's upcoming debut studio album, Pretty Bitch Music.[2][3][4]
