Il disco


Il disco è uscito il 22 novembre 2017 in Giappone e l'8 dicembre 2017 in Europa in versione doppio disco.

Tutti i brani contenuti nella raccolta sono stati completamente ri-registrati; infatti le canzoni più popolari a partire dal debutto omonimo del 1997 fino al disco Battering Ram del 2004, e pubblicate sotto l'etichetta Noise Records, impedivano la realizzazione del disco in quanto non potevano essere incluse per motivi legali. Piet Sielck spiega che benché i primi album non potessero essere ri-pubblicati, era tuttavia libero di registrarli nuovamente: "Non possiamo ristampare gli album che abbiamo pubblicato per Noise Records in quella che era la loro forma originaria, ma siamo liberi di ri-registrare dei pezzi da questi album. Abbiamo preso questa cosa come una sfida e con molto entusiasmo".[1]

Questo è anche il disco di debutto del nuovo batterista Patrick Klose, subentrato a Thomas Nack nei primi mesi del 2017.[2]

Reforged – Riding on Fire is the tenth studio album by German heavy/power metal band Iron Savior, which was released on 22 November 2017 in Japan and on 8 December 2017 in Europe as a 2-CD package. The album consists of re-recorded material of the most popular and best songs which dates from the band's 1997 self-titled debut album up until 2004's Battering Ram, when they were signed to Noise Records. It is also the first album to feature new drummer Patrick Klose since he joined in early 2017.[1] The first track "Riding on Fire" was made available for streaming on 2 November 2017 prior of the album's release,[2] followed by "Battering Ram" on 7 December 2017.[3]
