Slow Down è stata composta da Lindy Robbins, Julia Michaels, Freddy Wexler, Niles Hollowell-Dhar e da David Kuncio; gli ultimi due si sono occupati inoltre della produzione.[3] Si tratta di un brano dai ritmi dance pop ed elettronici ed è influenzato dal dubstep,[4][5][6] mentre il testo parla di prendere un rapporto sentimentale con calma anziché fare tutto di fretta.[7]


Video musicale


Il videoclip, girato a Parigi (Francia),[8][9] è stato pubblicato il 19 luglio 2013.[10] Esso mostra alcune scene in cui la cantante è seduta sul sedile posteriore di una Mercedes-Benz W100 con altre in cui balla all'interno di una discoteca insieme ad altri ballerini.[11]

It was made available for instant digital download along with the pre-order of the album on June 3, 2013. Hollywood Records later sent the song to mainstream radio as the second and final single from the album on August 13, 2013. The song was produced by The Cataracs and David Kuncio, and infuses EDM elements in its instrumentation. Lyrically, the song speaks of slowing down time and living in one magical moment on the dance floor.
