Storm of the Light's Bane è il secondo album del gruppo black metal svedese Dissection, pubblicato il 17 novembre 1995 da Nuclear Blast[1]. In seguito è stato ristampato nel 2002 sempre dalla Nuclear Blast con l'aggiunta dell'EP Where Dead Angels Lie sotto il titolo Storm of the Light's Bane/Where Dead Angels Lie, e da The End Records nel 2006 con un CD bonus contenente un demo inedito, alcuni mix alternativi e alcune tracce rimasterizzate[2].

All Music Guide ha lodato il disco, sostenendo che "esso è meritatamente considerato una pietra miliare del melodic black/death metal"[1]; similmente Rockline l'ha definito "una pietra miliare del panorama musicale estremo della scorsa decade"[3].

Storm of the Light’s Bane ist das zweite Studioalbum der schwedischen Black-/Death-Metal-Band Dissection. Es wurde im März 1995 im Unisound Studio aufgenommen und erschien am 17. November 1995 beim deutschen Independent-Label Nuclear Blast. In Rezensionen und der Literatur wird das Album überwiegend im Zusammenhang mit dem Black Metal rezipiert. Eine trennscharfe Zuordnung ist aber nicht möglich, da die Musik Stilelemente sowohl des Black als auch des Death Metal vereint. Charakteristisch für das Album ist der Wechsel aus schnell gespielten Blastbeat-Passagen und melodischen Gitarrenharmonien.

Storm of the Light's Bane is the second full-length album by Swedish black metal band Dissection. It was released on 17 November 1995 by Nuclear Blast. This would be the band's last full-length album before Nödtveidt's 1997 incarceration for the felony murder of Josef ben Meddour.[2] It would not be until 2006 that they would release their third and final album Reinkaos, which was followed by the breakup of the band and Jon Nödtveidt's suicide shortly after.[2] As with the band's debut album, Kristian 'Necrolord' Wåhlin created the artwork.

Fue lanzado en 1995 por Nuclear Blast Records, también se lanzó una edición especial digipack limitada a 500 copias. En 2002 fue lanzado de nuevo en digipack pero esta vez incluyendo el EP de 1997 Where Dead Angels Lie como bonus track. En 2006 fue de nuevo relanzado, esta vez por Black Horizon Music The End Records, que incluye dos discos: el primero es la versión original y en el segundo se incluye una versión inédita del álbum, el EP de Where Dead Angels Lie, más otro Demo inédito de 1994.
