Il brano è stato scritto dalla stessa cantante in collaborazione con Justin Tranter, Thomas Holkenborg, Kennedi Lykken, Mattias Larsson e Robin Fredriksson e prodotto da questi ultimi due insieme a Lorna Blackwood e MNEK.


Pubblicazione


Annunciata nel 2018,[4] Dua Lipa ha pubblicato un'anteprima di Swan Song in un post su Instagram il 3 gennaio 2019.[5][6][7] Originariamente doveva uscire il 25 gennaio, ma è stata pubblicata un giorno prima.[3]


Video musicale


Il video musicale, diretto da Floria Sigismondi, è stato reso disponibile il 24 gennaio 2019 tramite il canale YouTube della cantante.[8] Il video è ambientato nel futuro, dove viene mostrata la cantante camminare nelle strade di Iron City.[9] Alla fine del video Dua Lipa si trasforma nel personaggio di Alita, la protagonista del film.[10]

"Swan Song"[note 1] is a song by English singer Dua Lipa for the soundtrack of 2019 film Alita: Battle Angel. The singer co-wrote the song with Justin Tranter, Kennedi Lykken, Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson and Tom Holkenborg, while the production was handled by Mattman & Robin. Holkenborg also composed the soundtrack and orchestrations he created for it are used in the song. Announced in December 2018, the song was released for digital download and streaming on 24 January 2019 through Warner Bros. Records as the soundtrack's lead single.
